Sculpture In Context 2013
at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.
5th September to 18th October 2013Sculpture in Context at the National Botanic Gardens showcases the work of Irish and International artists in one of the most prestigious outdoor sculpture exhibitions in Ireland. It has over the years staged highly acclaimed visual arts events at venues such as Fernhill Gardens, the Conrad Hotel, Kilmainham Gaol, the Irish Management Institute, Dublin Castle, Farmleigh, and the National Botanic Gardens.
The gardens are not only a botanical paradise, but a quiet oasis just 3.5km from the centre of a modern European City. The 50 acres site gives visitors an opportunity to ramble, explore, and find sculptures throughout the gardens. Sculptures will be displayed in the gardens, ponds, Great Palm House, and Curvilinear Range of glasshouses, while the smaller pieces are exhibited in the gallery above the visitors’ centre.
Sculpture in Context offers an unparalleled opportunity to view Ireland’s well established and most promising artists.
